Last week, we mentioned to you that the Nokia 808 PureView in Egypt was beginning to rollout around this planet. The Asian region was first to get the phone, which makes sense considering the love for photography in that area, and the 41MP camera that the phone is equipped with. This week, the device launches in Egypt where it has been given a price tag of 4,444 EG pound or the equivalent of $715 USD.
Outside of the 41MP camera sensor, the specs on the Nokia 808 PureView are nothing to write home about. And the use of the Symbian Belle OS keeps the phone out of the U.S. where any Symbian OS build is a four letter word. Nokia's Vesa Jutila, who markets the Nokia 808 PureView, said that the PureView technology could be used in various ways which could be a hint that a Windows Phone flavored PureView enabled device is in the works. We've already shown you a PureView concept model running on Windows 8 (not Windows Phone 8) which would make it more of a tablet.
As far as the 41MP camera sensor is concerned, according to The Times of India, Nokia says that while pictures can be taken in up to 38 MP, images look best using a 5MP setting.
