At the end of that period (ca. 3050 BC) upper and lower Egypt were unified for the first time in history, marking the First Dynasty.

Menes was an Egyptian pharaoh of the First Dynasty. Some authors consider him the founder of this dynasty, while others see him as the second pharaoh of this dynasty. He lived ca. 3100–3000 BC, but according to some 3050 BC marks theUnification of Egypt. . Ancient Egyptian legend credits a pharaoh by the name of Menes with uniting Upper and Lower Egypt into one kingdom. This date marks the start of the unified Egyptian Nation, a nation which will later prove its greatness.

Microsoft's latest OS, Windows 8 Egypt, includes updates to some Windows 7 features that may allow for more intuitive use. The software was designed with interfaces for computers and tablets, but both devices can support either menu.

The tiled start-screen is modeled after the Live Tile system that Microsoft uses for Windows Phone. These icons are animated shortcuts that provide live updates for each program. For example, if you link your email account with Outlook, you'll receive an on-screen notification for every new message.
Windows 8, aside from its lack of a start button, has an alternate interface with certain similarities to Windows 7.
